Job Description
Who We Are

Entrepreneur First invests in exceptional individuals to build startups from scratch. We bring together people with extraordinary futures to develop their most ambitious ideas and raise money from the world’s best investors.

Since pioneering Talent Investing in 2014, we’ve learned to recognise individuals with extraordinary futures before anyone else, embedding them in a community of other ambitious people and giving them the tools they need to succeed, fast. We’ll back you before you have a company, a team, even before you have an idea, based purely on your talent.

The startups co-founded via our programmes are now worth over $10B, and include Tractable, Magic Pony Technology, Cleo, Omnipresent, Aztec, Transcelestial and many more.

EF is backed by some of the world's leading founders and investors, including Patrick and John Collison (Stripe); Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Tom Blomfield (GoCardless and Monzo), Sara Clemens (Pandora and Twitch); Nat Friedman (GitHub); and Matt Mullenweg (Wordpress). We exist to make great companies happen that otherwise wouldn’t.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an Operations Associate to support the Operations Manager and contribute to the high performance of our team in Entrepreneur First in the US. Your work will span every part of what we do, touching Talent, Selection, our Company Building program and Investor Relations. Within each of these areas, you will aid in managing the online operational processes and contribute to the operational design and execution of all our in-person events. A significant part of our business is about aggregating exceptional people in real life, so it's essential that you have experience in and are excited by, both the online and "offline" components of this role.

What You'll Do

As part of a small, high performance team, you will...

  • Support operational excellence in the end-to-end EF customer journey, covering online and in-real-life experiences

At EF, we run programs which enable exceptional individuals to build startups from scratch. You will work with our Talent Investing team to support the management of the end-to-end customer journey and ensure that every step of that journey is backed by operational excellence. This covers everything from helping to manage one-to-many customer communication, to aiding in the planning and execution of all events. Events at EF include everything from intimate dinners for key people in our network, to weekend Hackathons, to Selection Days, to regular workshops for our founders once they are on our program.

  • Contribute to the creation of operationally excellent workflows and processes

You will work closely with the Talent Investing team, who identifies, attracts and catalyses potential founders through our company creation program. You will assist the Talent Investors on proactive funnel management and program management, ensuring that we have an accurate and easy-to-understand view of our progress at both a macro and micro level.

  • Assist in the implementation of centrally developed and procured operational systems and processes

You will collaborate with our Global Product team to ensure that everyone on the US team understands how to use all centrally developed systems (e.g. our CRM, Salesforce), and also ensure that the US team's operational needs are effectively communicated to the Global Product team to enable appropriate procurement and configuration of centrally developed systems.
