Job Description
Lead Teacher
  • Implement the educational curriculum.
  • Coordinate and administer program: schedule classes and activities, handle correspondence and administer evaluations.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings for purposes of communication, logistical planning and educational improvement of the program.


Teacher
  • Maintain accurate grade records, complete mid-session progress reports and final evaluations.
  • Maintain communication with the Lead Teacher on the progress of all villagers in the class.
  • Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, plan, teach and assess language classes and activities on line.
Cultural Assistant
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Lead Teacher.
  • Lead games, Cabin Council and other activities as directed.
  • Participate in all aspects of Village life, including activity classes, study halls (credit program), song times, evening programs, cultural presentations and staff meetings. Lead or assist as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.) or international equivalent (Lead Teacher & Teacher)
  • Physically located in the US.
  • Experience teaching the target language and culture (Lead Teacher & Teacher)
  • Current US work authorization required
  • Experience working with youth 7-18 years of age
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in the Village language, both conversational and written
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching licensure, highly preferred (Lead Teacher & Teacher)
  • Experience as a teacher in the United States school system, preferred
  • Previous experience with Concordia Language Villages or other experiential learning, preferred
