Internship, Process & Production Engineer, Cell Manufacturing (Spring/Summer 2024)

The Spring Internship is expected to start around January 2024 and continue through the entire Spring term (i.e. through May 2024). The Summer Internship is expected to start around May 2024 and continue through the entire Summer term (i.e. through August 2024). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site. Please consider before submitting an application.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time depending on their academic standing.

Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant program such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials, or Chemistry

Qualifications for the above teams will include one or more of the following skillsets:

• Experience in creating/validating tooling drawings, pneumatic and electrical schematics, designing components and assemblies
• Data collection, statistical process control, and process capability analysis experience
• Experience with ladder logic and PLC programming
• Mechanical Design, 3D Modeling, CAD/AutoCAD, Solid Works
• Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC, A3, 8D, PDCA/Deming cycle
• Ability to build structure-property-processing relationships for different material classes eg. ceramics, polymers, and composites
• Experience with Microsoft office suite 365
• Strong foundation in materials formulations and processes, characterization, and analysis
• Knowledge and experience of web handling, calendaring, and battery cell technology. Battery manufacturing and metrology experience (Li-ion or other chemistry) is a plus
• Knowledge of data processing software such as SQL, JMP, Python, Minitab, Tableau, Ignition
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Standard Work, SMED, Material Flow, TPM
