Job Description

Position: Office Manager

:

Forward Air recently opened our consolidated CMH campus in Groveport OH! This campus supports 300+ employees together and drives cross-departmental coordination to help Forward Air drive Profitable growth!

For this new building, the organization is seeking an Office Manager that will be responsible for leading the office administration team. Duties will include directing, managing, and motivating your office/front desk staff and janitorial team to provide superb service to the teammates on the campus. The ideal candidate will have the desire to hire, coach, and cross train their staff, and work unilaterally across different departments to drive unified processes and controls.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Prepare and review HR/payroll records (attendance, timesheet and paid leave forms) for office staff, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Oversee office staff functions, including office supply levels, equipment maintenance, procedures manuals, forms, and direct cross training of staff
  • Complete other duties as requested and ability to work some extended hours to include nights and weekends, as needed
  • Establish uniform correspondence procedures and style practices
  • Conduct performance appraisals, reward and discipline associates, resolve grievances, and manage compensation process for office staff
  • Create and maintain filing system for records, such as scheduling information, consignee records, shipping/receiving records and customer files
  • Monitor and control all vendors of shared services. From vending to trash disposal.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain contact with customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Maximize office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications
  • Provide appropriate training, goal setting, and opportunities for growth to direct reports
  • Understands KPI’s and ability to manage based on corporate goals and present to Manager and company executives
  • Analyze and organize office and janitorial operations and procedures such as information management, filing systems, supply requisitions, and other services

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Strong technical skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel 2007, web-based applications, etc.)
  • Strong customer service skills with focus on performance recognition
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support the customer's preferences and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment while delivering quality outcomes
  • Proficiency in planning written and verbal communications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral
  • Strong leadership skills, as well as being a 'team player' and flexible
  • Experience working in a corporate office environment a plus
  • Strong coaching and people management skills including effective management of performance issues
  • Make decisions and or final recommendations which affect multiple departments

Skills:

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
