Job Description
Full-Time, Year Round Position
Reporting and working closely with the Safety Manager and the Occupational Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the health and safety of workers and other administrative tasks required in the Operations department. This role will also provide administrative support for key managers and supervisors within the Operations department, particularly during the winter operating season from December -April.

THIS POSITION IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to provide timely and high-quality safety support for all departments
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong decision-making, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume environment with the ability to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment
  • Dependable, timely, and cooperative
  • You have strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with managers, supervisors, and workers of all backgrounds and departments
  • Ability to advocate for safety while understanding the needs and limitations of the business
  • Ability to stay assertive while maintaining a friendly demeanor

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Previous experience working in a ski resort setting
  • Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Occupational Health and Safety Program Fundamentals (go2HR); or willing to obtain
  • BSAFE Training Course (go2HR), or willing to obtain
  • Occupational First Aid level 3; or willing to obtain
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Foundations of Workplace Safety Course (go2HR) ; or willing to obtain

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • RRSP plan membership will commence after 1 year of continuous full-time employment and will be matched by the company up to 2%
  • Family Season Passes for Mt Seymour Resorts ski area
  • Vacation pay accrual at the rate of 4% per bi-weekly pay period
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Salary based on compatibility with experience, qualifications, and assets
  • 50% of employee benefit costs including medical, dental, extended health, life insurance, and long-term disability after 3 months of continuous full-time employment
