Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner in our Burns/Plastics department.


This position is full time, exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $74.56 to 105.26/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.


The NP serves as an adjunct to the patent’s primary health care provider on his/her community. As such, the NP will act as a liaison between Shriners Hospital and primary caregivers in the referring community.


  • Coordinates admission scheduling in accordance with burn/plastic staff availability.
  • Assumes the active role in the development, data collection and publication of pediatric/adolescent burn and plastic surgery service study findings.
  • Attends outpatient specialty clinica as assigned.
  • Performs and documents history and physical exams for burn/plastic service patients.
  • Obtain and document appropriate health histories and physical exams on Burn & Plastic Surgery patients.
  • Assists the attending physician in leading team conferences and participates in patient/family conferences.
  • Develop a plan of care collaboratively with medical, nursin, allied health and other support staff and patient family.
  • Plans, coordinates, and couducts formal seminars and informal meetings with various professional groups.

Five years of burn and critical care nursing experience


RN license


Eligibility for CA certification as a nurse practitioner

This position reports to, assists, and collaborates with the Vice President of Hospital Operations on executive-level presentations, special projects, project management, tracking key operational metrics, and other initiatives as they pertain to operations. Functional system level departments in Hospital Operations include Building Operations, Facilities and Construction Management, Information Systems, International Strategy and Operations, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Supply Chain Management, and Telehealth. The Manager will establish trusting relationships and collaborate with system and facility leadership as well as governance committees supported by the Vice President, Hospital Operations.


This position is based on Tampa Bay, Florida. Candidates will work on site and remotely on a weekly basis.


  • Operates as project manager for key activities and projects which directly align with the strategic short and long term goals set forth by Leadership
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills as well as creative problem-solving and decision-making
  • Participate as an integral component in the enterprise-wide RFI/RFP procurement process
  • Represents Hospital Operations Division in working with other system-level divisions including Finance and Accounting, Business and Planning Development, Medical Affairs, and Research
  • Prepare financial impact analysis and departmental budget reconciliation
  • Provide budgetary oversight and guidance to achieve financial operating targets and align forecasts with annual objectives
  • Manage the development of capital and operating fiscal budgets across 25 cost centers
  • Identifies and spearheads initiatives which deliver incremental and sustainable cost savings opportunities
  • Supports development of annual system capital plan
  • Preparing agenda, minutes, and presentation materials for Committee and Joint Boards Meetings


Required


5+ years of progressive healthcare experience


Master's Degree in a related field is required
