Texas Children's Pavilion for Women is a comprehensive obstetrics/gynecology facility and one of a select few hospitals nationwide that provides women, mothers and babies with a full continuum of high-quality, expert health care. Offering a full spectrum of maternal and fetal medicine services, including an array of fetal diagnostic procedures and highly specialized fetal surgeries, the Pavilion for Women is connected to Texas Children's Hospital via a two-story circular sky bridge to enhance patient care by providing physicians, staff and patient families with rapid access to other pediatric subspecialists. Three private OB/GYN practices, The Family Fertility Center, The Menopause Center and The Women's Place - Center for Reproductive Psychiatry are all housed here. Summary:
We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner in Maternal Fetal Medicine - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will practice in an advanced role to provide care for obstetrics and/or gynecological patients. Includes but is not limited to outpatient roles in pre-natal care, well woman, and gynecology services as well as inpatient roles such as rounding or assisting the physicians with deliveries and surgical procedures. The nurse practitioner (NP) works under a delineation of clinical privileges and works collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Practicing under established guidelines and clinical protocols, the NP assumes independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures. As an advanced practice nurse, the NP is responsible for education, research, consultation and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.

Qualifications:
- Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
- Required Master's Degree Science in Nursing -For employees hired with Texas Children's before 03/01/17, an MSN is required for NPs licensed 01/01/03 or after. -For employees hired with Texas Children's before 03/01/17, either an MSN or a certificate program is required for NPs licensed prior to 01/01/03.

Responsibilities:
- Consistently applies new knowledge relevant to clinical practice. Communicates research findings to other health care professionals as observed by evaluation of written reports. Integrates research findings into advanced nursing practice as observed by evaluation of written reports. Collaborates in the development of medical research protocols to delineate nursing care requirements. Collaborates with nursing colleagues in the initiation, development, and implementation of nursing research studies. Serves as a resource for interdisciplinary research and incorporates concepts from health care research into clinical applications.
- Demonstrates NP role behaviors consistent with the development of advanced nursing practice. Practices independently or interdependently in the nurse practitioner's role under a delineation of clinical privileges. Develops and updates a delegation protocol in collaboration with a physician specific to the OB/GYN specialty. Explores and implements charges/reimbursement for services as appropriate. Participates in the ongoing development, review, and evaluation of the NP role.
- Consistently serves as an educational resource for the patient and family, community, and other health care professionals. Identifies and documents patient/family learning needs, readiness to learn, and level of understanding, incorporating family culture and belief systems on all patients. Assesses and documents impediments to patient/family learning and formulates plans to overcome them as needed. Serves as an educational resource to the patient/family. Participates in a minimum of 2 nursing staff education, in-house, and community education programs annually. Serves as a preceptor to graduate students and other practitioners to provide support and clinical expertise when assigned. Initiates and conducts patient care conferences with other members of the health care team as needed.
- Consistently demonstrates effective communication skills and works to eliminate communication barriers. Collaborates effectively with other members of the health care disciplines to provide comprehensive care to patients. Utilizes effective and appropriate interviewing skills to elicit information from patient and/or family and collaborates with them in the development of the plan of care. Requests consultation and/or initiates referral for specialized care as appropriate. Communicates with health care team members the comprehensive assessment, impression, and plan of care. Communicates positively and appropriately with colleagues in order to work effectively as a team.
- Demonstrates current professional, managerial, and/or technical knowledge and skills. Maintains knowledge base by reading professional literature and attending staff development and continuing education programs annually. Participates in department and hospital committees, which promote quality nursing, care as assigned. Attends all NP meetings or notifies supervisor to be excused. Maintains membership in appropriate professional organizations.
- Daily utilizes advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data, and to manage a caseload of patients. Obtains a comprehensive health, developmental, and family history on patients as documented in the patient's medical record. Assesses the patient's physical status through the physical examination as documented in the patient's medical record. Differentiates between normal and abnormal findings as documented in the patient's medical record. Performs or recommends age-appropriate health screening procedures as documented in the patient's medical record. Provides health maintenance and health promotion for women of all ages as documented in the patient's medical record. Performs and evaluates diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests as documented in the patient's medical record. Analyzes multiple sources of data and formulates a differential diagnosis in collaboration with physicians as demonstrated in the written documentation. Follows established delegation protocols to manage specific patient problems. Formulates a plan of care in collaboration with other health care professionals and documents the plan in the patient's medical record. Accurately evaluates patient's responses to interventions and modifies the plan of care demonstrated by written documentation.
- Participates in departmental Quality Improvement program annually. Participates in at least one QI aspect of care, which shows improvement, related to patient outcome.
