Job Summary
Reporting to the Medical Director, and under minimal direction, this position helps to support SHCS in addressing emergent public health concerns. Helps to supervise high quality, cost effective infection control and response including vaccination, testing, case investigation and contact tracing, reporting, and data collection and evaluation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Required to participate in Universal Precautions, blood borne pathogen, airborne pathogen training and mandatory regulatory trainings.

- Position requires signing a statement of understanding of Dependent Adult/Elder Abuse Reporting Requirement.
- Employment contingent upon participating in required preventative and medical monitoring programs which may include blood tests, immunizations, TB screening.
- Employment contingent upon satisfactory completion of a physical exam by an Occupational Health physician to ascertain clearance from communicable disease and physical ability to perform the duties of this position.
- Position may, at times, require employee to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present.
- Responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Minimum License/Certification
- California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
- National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area
- Current active unrestricted California license as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner.
- Current active unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License
- Current DEA certification with schedules II-V
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) OR American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) OR American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- Current BLS certification
Minimum Education/Experience:
- MPH or equivalent education or experience.
- Knowledge and demonstration of advanced skills associated with the practice medicine and management of health services with recent experience in clinical practice (3-5 years). Familiarity with California RN Scope of practice. Skills to provide quality health service programs to faculty, students and staff members.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
- Ability to synthesize and summarize procedures and clinical practice to variety of audiences in interdisciplinary environment – e.g. non-clinical and clinical. Highly effective at written and oral communication used to effectively interact with diverse individuals, comfortable leading meetings.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, department managers, supervisors, and occupational health and other staff members to lead and influence others on matters of significance, provide resource information, resolve infection control problems, and identify new opportunities for improvement.
- Competency in drafting, writing and developing standing orders, procedures and policies encompassing different clinical scopes of practice (e.g. RN, NP, MD). Competency with Microsoft Office and email programs, as well as EMR charting and documentation.
- Supervision and management background to recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, resolve problems and conflicts and build an effective service-oriented team environment, and knowledge of HR-related policies and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Preferred License/Certification
- CIC certification or eligible for CIC certification within one year.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience working with Practice Management Database and/or Electronic Medical Record system.
- Leadership experience in a College Health Care setting preferred.
