Our Nurse Educator will:

• Engage in unit specific performance improvement initiatives and assist in addressing knowledge deficits identified through unit-based monitoring
• Collaborate with leadership and nursing preceptors in evaluating and promoting development amongst the nursing staff
• Provide specialized clinical expertise and skill, acting as a support person and role model for the nursing staff
• Manage education of staff, including employees' orientation to the unit, standards of care, and competencies, as well as continuing education and in-service programs for the Department of Nursing
• Collaborate and consult with other departments within the hospital to assist with the provision of education programs and projects related to current health issues for employees and the community
• Design, plan, and implement a criteria-based staff development program to meet the clinical needs of all nursing care team members
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff in the application of relevant research findings to practice
• Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of patient care relevant to clinical practice
• Assess clinical skills and learning needs of the nursing staff
• Take an active role in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and patient education programs, and other educational projects as requested
• Actively participate in unit departmental and interdisciplinary programs, meetings and conferences to assist with changing trends in the delivery of patient care

What you'll bring:

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification strongly preferred
• Preferred Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & PALS Instructor certification
• Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
• 4+ Years of acute care RN experience
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required (will consider candidates currently enrolled in an MSN program)
• Passion for Nursing Education
• Leadership or Nursing Education experience preferred
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required (will consider candidates currently enrolled in an MSN program)
