Nuclear Thermal Propulsion Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Provide system engineering, analytical integration, technical and program support to the NTP project.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Participate in relevant trade teams. Identify and pursue resolution of issues.
• Translate higher level requirements into lower level functional requirements and design options. Conduct trade studies/assessments to determine the optimal design solutions.
• Attend technical interchange, project planning, design review, and other appropriate meetings to maintain a current knowledge base of design, requirements, issues, action items, and resolution activities. Identify issues, pursue resolutions, and provide supporting analyses. Complete assigned action items. Develop requirements and implement risk management processes.
• Identify and document customer objectives and product requirements.

Education requirements are a degree in Management Information Systems or related field. Degree from an ABET accredited institution preferred.

Qualifications include:

• Exhibited capability to plan and perform systems engineering and analysis tasks independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with design, analysis, integration and/or development/verification testing is a plus.
• Integration experience at the vehicle or stage level to include technical and systems engineering activities is a plus.
