Validation Engineer - Stellantis

This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment, Electrical Distribution Systems business unit.

Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Validation Engineer that will be located in Troy, MI.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
• Provide recommendations to customer if the previously identified test plan do not meet the test purpose/outcome (sample size calculations, specification updates, etc.).
• Prepare and formally present this information to the customer engineering team for final approval/signoff.
• Identify previously validated components to use on the harness to reduce validation cost.
• Coordinate with the Application engineering team and the Quality/PPAP team to complete proper paperwork and prepare package to send to customer for final approval – thereby allowing shipment of harnesses to the vehicle assembly plant.
• Work with customer engineers to identify all wiring harness design verification and product validation requirements (design specs/testing requirements/etc.).
• Facilitate all physical harness testing, including the acquisition of actual test parts and the coordination of quoting/payment process to non-Aptiv test labs (if necessary).
• Work with the customer engineering team and provide design change recommendations for components that do not meet the various test requirements.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

• Proven p roblem solving and communication skills.
• Presentation experience (MS PPT).
• Bachelors degree in Engineering or STEM.
• 1+ years of experience with electrical wire harnesses.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

• Proven t eam player - willing to help others.
• Automotive OEM experience.
• Ability to be able to multi-task working with multiple programs.
• Test lab experience (hands-on experience).
• Validation or testing experience.
