Make-A-Wish Maine

Scarborough, ME




We are working with our client Make-A-Wish Maine in seeking an Non-Profit Events Manager, to be based in their Scarborough, ME office. The Events Manager is responsible for increasing chapter revenue and elevating the organization’s mission and brand by coordinating and executing all internal fundraising events, supporting and stewarding external events as well as planning all other chapter events.



Requirements of the Non-Profit Events Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in planning, coordination and execution of events.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and respond to rapidly changing situations.
  • Current and valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
  • Technical competency in Peer-to-Peer fundraising and event management software; One Cause or similar auction and fundraising software preferred.
  • Prior experience planning golf tournaments, endurance events and/or auctions preferred.
  • Prior experience organizing and leading volunteer committees.
  • Prior marketing, social media and communications experience.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.


Benefits of the Job:

  • Annual pay in the range of $45,000 to $50,000

Responsibilities of the Non-Profit Events Manager:

  • Serve as Make-A-Wish representative for public speaking invitations, external events and special events
  • Cultivate, support and steward the organization’s external events
  • Collaborate with Director of Development on execution of events run by chapter’s Young Leaders Council
  • Collaborate with Volunteer and Alumni Coordinator on execution of Wish Alum engagement events statewide
  • Coordinate donor cultivation events throughout the state in partnership with the Director of Development and President & CEO
  • Assist with marketing and development efforts as needed
  • Manage all peer-to-peer and digital fundraising initiatives via chapter’s on-line platforms
  • Lead the organization, implementation, and execution of all internal events, including but not limited to Trailblaze Challenge, Wish Night, Walk for Wishes, Tee Up for Wishes Golf Tournament, Auction/Gala
  • Develop and manage Kids for Wish Kids Program through engaging youth in fundraising and volunteer initiatives statewide
