Non-Clinical - Health And Information Management - Medical Coder

TITLE: Coder III- ED Profee START DATE: ASAP END DATE/CONTRACT LENGTH: 13 weeks LOCATION: 100% Remote SHIFT: 5x8H Shifts, M-F **This is an AFSCME represented position with a candidate minimum pay rate of XX53.66** Description Under general direction of the Coding Manager, and according to established procedures, this position charges injections and infusions for assigned cases in the chemotherapy department. Assigns the appropriate ICD-10-CM and all applicable CPT and/or HCPCS codes for the appropriate codes to the highest level of specificity for appropriate reimbursement for patient accounts and abstracts all coded data into abstracting information system for patients receiving services at UC San Diego Health System. Responsible for data entry into electronic databases for use in the assessing quality of patient care, outcome analysis, and financial management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Coding experience with infusion center coding, chemotherapy administrations, injections/infusions
• 3+ years 3M 360 CAC recent (within last 6 months) experience a MUST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years Epic recent (within last 6 months) experience a MUST
• Must have minimum of two (2) years of production coding and charging experience in acute care setting with one of the following credentials: RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC - will not interview candidates without this listed specifically in the resume.
• CCS highly preferred
• 3M 360 experience
• 5+ years ED Profee coding recent (within last 6 months) experience to include E/M leveling.
• Graduation from High School or GED; or equivalent experience.
• Epic Experience required
