Responsibilities You will conduct visual test (VT) and dimensional evaluation on prepared and fit-up surfaces. You will conduct magnetic particle (MT) inspections of ferromagnetic materials to detect surface/subsurface discontinuities. You will conduct liquid penetrate (PT) inspections to detect surface discontinuities in ferrous and nonferrous materials. You will engage in the manufacture, assembly, disassembly, overhaul, repair, installation and test of ARLE systems and components. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Performing Visual Test (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Magnetic Particle (MT) inspections; 2) Utilizing repair, maintenance, and overhaul of systems and components to complete assigned workload; 3) Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and diagrams to carry out nondestructive tests; 4) Applying non-destructive test and inspection methods to examine Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE); 5) Engaging in manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, overhaul, repair, installation and test of ALRE systems and components to support product development programs and in-service engineering actions. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
