Through a network of physical and virtual “centers,” the i-Center will also contribute a key piece of social movement infrastructure needed to fuel transformative structural change across California. This network will consist of new and existing centers serving hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of grassroots leaders in California. We aspire to raise the necessary resources to fuel the mission, vision, and programs of the i-Center.

The i-Center is focusing on three core strategies to deepen the power, coordination, and impact of the sector. In all three areas, we will create program and infrastructure supports that are additive and synergistic with existing movement efforts rather than duplicative.

  • Oversee project requirements and support the centers as they develop their programs
  • Oversee development and implementation of Network of Centers programming and learning agenda including refinement of goals, setting learning milestones and sharing lessons across program strategies
  • Build relationships with centers and encourage communication across the NOC.
  • Coordinate and support organizational learning experiments with others in the network.
  • Relationships with center

  • A flexible and resilient approach, with the ability to handle strong opinions/feedback well and adapt to the dynamic nature of a startup environment.
  • Proven management and leadership skills, with a knack for building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Experience in Program Development & Capacity Building.
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizing and program development, with at least three-five years of experience in coalition.
  • A track record of building relationships with progressive organizational leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong strategic and visionary thinking skills.
