Shaffer is looking for a National Sales Manager - West Coast to join our team in Sidney, OH. As a National Sales Manager - West Coast you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling activities to achieve total revenue and profit goals with assigned territories and National Accounts. You will interface with both internal and external senior-level management, Shaffer product development personnel as well as all relative contacts within assigned territories, National Accounts, authorized agents, and suppliers. Individual will direct the activities of the assigned territories and National Accounts through effective account management, Shaffer service relationships, agent programs, and end user relationships.
The office for this position is located in Sidney, OH. The person for this role will need to be located around the Sidney area or can be remote in the region they will be supporting.

What you’ll do:
- Have expertise in specifications, application, and all Peerless Food Equipment lines as well as process knowledge of overall Bakery market.
- Maintain deep understanding of key operational issues, trends, and emerging strategies of managed account.
- Conduct research and identify potential accounts for growth.
- Work closely with the field service group to ensure all accounts have appropriate support.
- Manage and be available to attend all customer and industry trade shows.
- Work with all product lines on enhancements and new product development; marketing programs; sales tools; and pricing strategies related to assigned accounts.
- Serve as a first point of contact for all customer requirements. Manage resolution of customer and service complaints.
- Coordinate within established guidelines all VIP visits for assigned accounts.
- Develop, implement, and drive sales action plans to penetrate and maximize sales volume in all designated or target accounts.
- Coordinate all account service activity. (This reads like NAMs schedule all service in their accounts)
- Manage all pricing issues and maintain discounting to acceptable levels.
- Develop annual strategic plans and complete account profiles on all assigned active accounts.
- Assist in managing projects as they progress through the design and manufacturing phases through completion.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Create a network of allied partners to help identify trends and new market opportunities.
- Track competitive trends, pricing, and actively communicate findings with appropriate field and product line management.
- Participation in and completion of all applicable training – including ongoing skill and knowledge development beyond initial training.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree -OR-
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Requires at least 50% travel.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
- 5-8 years’ experience of progressive sales management and/or targeting National Accounts
- Experience with product and service sales
Great to Haves:
- Salesforce experience
- Bakery market experience is a plus.
- Capital equipment sales experience.
