The role:
If you want to help us build a multimodal data system that improves our capacity to understand, plan for, manage and optimize the statewide multimodal transportation network, then apply today! As a multimodal network analyst, you will provide expertise on Oregon Transportation Plan goals and policies, federal policies, state statutes and administrative rules and understand how they impact program implementation and investment options. You will also manage the development of the multimodal network, Public Transportation Division program and key performance measures while coordinating the procurement of systems and services.

A day in the life:
  • Evaluate performance data and work with staff to report on multimodal, transit and key performance measures.
  • Organize project work to encourage participation and information sharing between agencies to promote policy and program improvements.
  • Develop strategies and priorities to improve ODOT’s statewide multimodal data with policy staff and help define ODOT’s role.
  • Coordinate and run data analysis for reporting requests.
  • Develop and manage the division’s multimodal, program and legislative key performance measures in collaboration with program managers.

  • Support and improve the quality and availability of information for multimodal travelers statewide.
  • Perform multimodal system data management and analysis.
  • Work with division staff to understand and prioritize gaps in information and analysis capacity.
  • Communicate priorities to multimodal and public transportation partners and implement technology related training for ODOT and agency partner staff.

What we need:
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
OR
A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, finance, political science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Project and program management skills.
  • General knowledge of transit technology, public transportation and multimodal planning principles, General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) and other transit data and Information Technology Systems (ITS) architecture.
  • Communication skills.
  • Experience with data aggregation and archiving, and software tool sets required to benefit from the data.
  • Ability to collect, manage and analyze statewide multimodal and transit data with a focus on data standards and data creation.
