Under the direction of the Senior Advisor, Strategy & Communications, coordinates and produces audio/video programming for government access television, social media and special productions, including all aspects from pre-production organization through final edition copy. Visual storyteller with knowledge of current design software and skilled in the design process. Provides responsive, courteous and efficient service in support of all City operations.

- Designs, photographs and creates City ID badges for new and existing City employees.
- Conceptualizes, organizes, and creates 3D animations, graphics, and visual design to support video productions and to prepare and present general informational/promotional programs involving the city and community.
- Photographs events and features located in the City.
- Documents existing conditions in natural land features, property, buildings, and roadways for department needs.
- Performs all phases of video production including conceptualization, writing, scripting, shooting, editing, audio acquisition, lighting, coordinating talent, directing talent and programming the teleprompter.
- Able to perform simple maintenance on video production equipment
- Conducts City Hall tours for community and guest groups, as well as youth programs.
- Contributes to social media content, to include following popular trends to stay current with the way people want to receive information.
- Coordinates the work of part-time production assistants and volunteers for broadcast of City Council meetings and other City productions, including off-site, live productions at the request of the Media Production Leader, as requested by the Media Production Leader.
- Records, operates camera, and streams City Council Meetings to the City’s cable television channel, along with live streaming to the internet.
- Programs and maintains the City’s cable television channel and YouTube account.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Creates and designs graphic artwork and layouts for various print materials as assigned.
- Assists in preparing the budget and equipment needs.
- Setups and troubleshoots technology needs (non-computer) for presentations and meetings.
- Prepares informational, documentary or training materials for presentation to City employees.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Television Broadcast, Communications , or closely related field;
- Three (3) years' work experience with progressive responsibilities that require full working knowledge of animation, video production and photography.
- Experience with social media platforms, public relations or marketing.
- Intermediate proficiency with office computers and associated business applications.
- Certified drone operator or able to achieve certification.
- Proficiency with video file management and editing.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
- Familiarity with software updating practices.
- Basic knowledge of computer networking and troubleshooting, file management, encoding best practices, and video streaming.
