Job Description
The Multimedia Manager is responsible for video and photography projects for SLB’s Communications department. You will ensure all projects are properly scoped, budgeted, and planned to exceed stakeholder needs. You will be responsible for projects’ timely execution and quality output, making best use of our in-house photography/videography team and any freelance contractors and agencies you might engage.
The ideal candidate should have strong visual storytelling skills and creative direction that leads to a cohesive final product. Format types include short and long form videos, scripted and unscripted content, and integrated videos combining live action video with motion graphics and 2D/3D animation. Overall, SLB favors a photojournalistic style that features action-oriented people in environments associated with energy, technology, and global presence.
Technical expertise in 4K video, editing, post-production, and output workflows is required. You should have experience editing short and long format videos with optimization for web and social media channels.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for communications, thinks creatively to find solutions, and is eager to take our multimedia program to new heights. Success requires an innovative and performance-driven mindset – to test, learn and continually optimize.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Handle administrative responsibilities associated with projects, including project management, file organization, and archiving
  • During filming, work with on-screen talent, script writer, Art Director or video producer
  • Stay current and knowledgeable of technologies and techniques in multimedia and in marketing
  • Participate in on-location filming with equipment selection, setting up and operating professional camera systems, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure projects are completed on brand, on time, and to quality standards
  • Create detailed shot lists to optimize filming schedule and achieve vision for project script and storyboard
  • Collaborate with Videographer to develop diagrams to map out camera, lighting, and audio for intermediate single or multi-camera setups
  • Contribute to scriptwriting and overall storytelling from a visual perspective
  • Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to address
  • Report to executive leadership on project KPOs, ROI, and insights, in collaboration with the campaign managers
  • Manage project requests, project assignments, and stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure team and all contractors and agencies adhere to SLB safety standards and filming safety protocols
  • Demonstrate craftmanship and keen eye for detail with the ability to adapt to a wide range of visual styles
  • Manage approvals by working with Lead Writers, Art Directors, and stakeholders/approvers to consolidate and implement edits on final deliverables
  • Present production plans to stakeholders and keep stakeholders informed of project status
  • Brand compliance; and methods to monetize brand equity
  • Manage media by importing and backing up all media files; add metadata and description for media assets and upload to internal digital asset management (DAM) system
  • Export, compress, and upload videos and photographs to internal and external internet sites; provide guidance on best practices for encoding and bit rate for various hosting platforms

  • Knowledge of B2B Marketing and Corporate Communications strategies, especially in the use of digital platforms
  • Teamwork — ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including other creative teams, executive leadership, business stakeholders, and external customers or partners to execute projects
  • Adobe Creative Cloud — experience using Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects
  • Ability to direct talent to capture dynamic shots, per project specifications
  • Photography — portraits and headshots, products, special events, and environments (e.g. manufacturing and office facilities, installations, well sites)
  • Skilled in all aspects of cinematography, including capture, audio, lighting, framing, composition, camera angles, and camera motion
  • Experience with shooting and editing RAW, JPEG, and video file formats, including LOG, MP4, and MOV
  • Experience with shooting video using professional 4K camera systems, lighting, and audio equipment in many environments, including indoor, outdoor, domestic, and international locations
  • Skilled in managing, exporting, and encoding media for various online hosting platforms and specialized theaters or digital displays
  • Stakeholder customer service — ability to present clear ideas, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and fully manage assigned projects with a customer service mindset
  • Skilled in all aspects of post-production including assembly, color-correction and color-grading, and sound design
  • Leadership — Problem-solving skills; managing team dynamics; Project management and budget management
  • Video Shooting and Editing — Expert in quality checking a wide range of video content including executive business updates, scripted videos, unscripted interviews or panel discussions, integrated videos combining live action with motion graphics or 3D animation, general B-roll footage
  • Excellent understanding of visual storytelling with experience in creative direction
  • Up-to-date on related emerging technologies and marketing trends, including trends of video editing and post-production workflows
  • Camera systems — experience using Sony mirrorless camera systems or Blackmagic Pocket Cinema systems preferred; Canon and Panasonic camera systems experience considered
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Adaptable and flexible to project changes
  • 5+ years of experience in photography and videography
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
  • Strong demo reel(s) or samples of work showcasing high-quality examples of photography, videography, and video editing
  • Proactive attitude who takes ownership of their area of responsibility
  • Agility to work in a dynamic environment and deal with ambiguity
  • Strong creative input, teamwork, project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Highly collaborative with strong communication skills - verbal and written – to work with a matrix of internal stakeholders
  • Inquisitive and innovative mindset
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in photography, videography, or related field; in lieu of a Bachelor's or Associate degree, 8 years’ experience in videography, photography, or video/photography editing is required
  • Exemplifies professionalism to staff and internal clients
  • Up to 30% travel (domestic and international)
Preferred qualifications:
  • Proficient with color-grading application (DaVinci Resolve Suite or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and experience in working with aerial footage; FAA drone certified (preferred, but not required)
  • 5+ years of experience leading multimedia teams
  • Strong communication skills with Executive leadership
  • Working knowledge of 6K and 8K video production workflows
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling with experience in creative direction
  • Experience filming in professional studios with professional, hired on-camera talent
  • Knowledge and experience in audio editing and sound design, including editing voiceovers, producing, or selecting music, and applying sound effects
