Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Order vendor products for newly originated loans, mail disclosure notices to members, and deliver data and documentation to our investors and sub-servicing partner for loan boarding.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Retrieve missing signatures from mortgage loan originator, member and title company.
  • Ensure original mortgage note and deed are properly filed and scanned or delivered to the investor when loan is secondary.
  • Manage and maintain a clean lobby area and member traffic.
  • Ensure loan has boarded correctly to NACCU and sub-servicer system.
  • Comply with financial industry rules and regulations as required by law.
  • Cross sell Credit Union services.
  • Back up Mortgage Servicing Representatives when needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of ACH and mailing addresses for NACCU and sub-servicing.
  • Upload all mortgage documentation for each newly originated loan to sub-servicing partner and to NACCU optical system.
  • Follow current policies and procedures set by the Board of Directors.
  • Review all signed closing documents for completion to allow funding approval.
  • Prepare loan estimates with details from purchase contracts and update closing dates, all contact information for realtors/seller/title company, fees, seller credits, earnest money deposits, tax proration, and escrow amounts.
  • Ensure PASS on all compliance and HMDA checks.
  • Enter and submit wire for escrow accounts.
  • Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain tracking and delivery of trailing documents such as recorded title policy, deed, and Texas home equity security instrument to ensure completion by third party and delivered to Investor when loan is secondary.
  • Balance funding notes to the closing disclosure to ensure accurate funding request.
  • Assign loans to mortgage processors.
  • Greet members, address inquiries on mortgage questions.
  • Mail disclosure notices to members for all loan applications.
  • Request appraisal, insurance, and title work for each loan.
  • Deliver paid in full documentation requests to sub-servicing partner.
  • Prepare/mail checks and/or wire requests for payments to all parties involved in loan.

Contacts: Frequent contact with members, mortgage personnel, and third-party services.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Most important to this position are reliability, accuracy, timeliness, organizational skills, and follow-through and communication skills. This position requires basic mathematical and general business knowledge. Preferred knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing mortgage lending including but not limited to HMDA, RESPA, REG Z, and ECOA compliance.


EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma/GED.


EXPERIENCE

  • Financial and mortgage experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Two (2) years progressive administrative/clerical experience and customer services skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Wrist / hand movement is inherent in the job, restriction to workstation for extended periods of time. Ability to hear for frequent telephone communications is necessary. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents.


EQUIPMENT SKILLS

Personal computer with windows environment, copy machine, typewriter, telephone, calculator, and fax machine.
