JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Welder
Job Summary: The Welder is responsible for production welding a variety of assemblies, and setup,
operating and light maintenance of production equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work from instructions and prints to arrange parts into welding fixtures, clamp pieces into
position and tack weld and/or apply finished weld. Select proper equipment, set voltage and
wire feed settings to obtain proper strength and appearance.
2. Handle assorted raw materials, steel parts, and steel scrap.
3. Maintain work area and production equipment in clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety
work rules.
4. Perform work in a manner that all products conform to prescribed quality standards.
5. Perform incoming inspection, sorting, receiving of bar stock, pipe, rod material and welding
supplies.
6. Perform light maintenance on plant equipment where needed; i.e., startup/shutdown, maintain
inspection records and keep work environment clean.
7. Operate small electric/air hand tools.
8. On occasion, cross-train and operate some or all of the following production equipment:
press brake, spot welder, turret, rivut gun, Stud gun, and sander.
9. Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
10. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or
controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance;
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and overhead work. Employee has some exposure to fumes, glare and
radiation of arc. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ years welding experience
Ability to safely and effectively operate welding and fabrication equipment
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with personnel and read and interpret
documents, such as welding blueprints
Proficient with mathematical calculations and use of measuring devices
Schedules
Monday- Thursday
6am-4:30pm
Pay $22-$25 **Based on experience
