Work location: 240 Miller Rd., Mansfield, TX 76063

Work hours: Full-time (40 hours weekly) working a day shift

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required

Experience
1 year of experience as a medication aid is required

Licenses and Certifications
Current and active medication aide license is required upon hire

Skills

Good written and oral communication skills; organized and detail oriented; interacts well with peers and clients.

What You Will Do

Under the supervision of the unit nurse, administers medications; documents medication administration; monitors for medication reactions and informs the nurse of any adverse reactions; alerts DON when medications need to be ordered; completes routine medication inventory counts at the frequency directed by facility leadership; monitors for medication count discrepancies; investigates and resolves discrepancies with nurses; stocks Pyxis with medications; utilizes a nurse witness when loading narcotic medications; ensures medication rooms are clean and organized; ensures no personal belongings are in the medication rooms; collects, scans, and files narcotic logs; assists in medication destruction with a nurse; collects, scans, and files medication destruction logs; other duties as assigned.
