Freeman Regional Assisted Living (Salem Mennonite Home) in Freeman, SD is seeking a part-time or full-time RN, LPN, or Medication Aide to provide care and support for residents of the Assisted Living. Duties include planning, coordinating and implementing of a health care program that assists in maintaining each resident's highest functioning level with regard to physical, social, spiritual and mental well-being. These duties include assisting with the development of an individualized plan for each resident's health care that will maintain, if not improve, quality of life comparable to that enjoyed by the resident prior to moving into the facility. The duties include performing routine services and personal care for residents of the facility, including assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADL's), supervising the self-administration of medications by residents, and administering medications to residents who require assistance.
Eight hour shifts. Part-time night shifts available as well as various other day & evening shifts. Approximately 16-36 hours a week, including every other weekend and every other holiday. Potential for full-time status if willing to cross-train to Freeman Regional’s Long Term Care facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: At least a high school education (or the equivalent of a high school education). Technical/vocational school or college education is preferred, but not required.
- A Medication Aide should have completed a Medication Administration Training Program and received certificate of completion approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing. On the job training is available and requires at least sixteen (16) hours of course work and at least four (4) hours of clinical/lab, 20 hours total. An Unlicensed Diabetic Aide Certification is also needed and is available through on the job training.
- Maintains certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
Licensure:
Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses must possess and maintain a valid license issued by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
