1a. Transcribe/edit reports in order priority and in accordance with production standards

a. Able to transcribe/edit dictation from various dictators with various accents, dialects and dictation styles

b. Able to transcribe/edit multiple worktypes

c. Displays understanding of working in a consolidated service environment, variances in workload and the necessity for a flexible approach to workload assignments

1b. Transcribe/edit reports in order priority and in accordance with quality standards

a. Produces documents at an acceptable quality level as defined by Transcription quality program

b. Understands the importance of continuing education and training progression

c. Follow the Transcription system document instructions throughout the transcription of patient documents on specified worktypes.

d. Identifies inconsistencies within dictation and forwards issues to quality assessment process for appropriate resolution.

e. MTs are required to use their best efforts to produce error-free patient records and solicit feedback from management when necessary.

f. Uses reference material appropriately and reports sent to quality assessment process reflects appropriate use.

2. Utilize digital dictation system and transcription technology (may include but not limited to Nuance WordClient/Joblister/Standalone Transnet, Tamtron, Epic, Powerscribe.)

a. Understands and makes appropriate use of technology (i.e. short cuts, macros, etc.) to increase efficiency and quality of output

b. Demonstrates good working knowledge of technology

3. Transcribe on assigned worktypes according to agreed upon work schedule.

4. Customer Service

a. Demonstrates understanding of meeting customer turnaround standards and willingly works with management to meet those standards

b.Treats any customer contact with the utmost courtesy and professionalism

c.Uses interpersonal skills effectively to build and maintain cooperative working relationship with supervisor and co-workers

d.Responds well to direction from management and understands importance of communication in a business setting.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited transcription program or one year of college with appropriate educational background and/or equivalent experience

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum one to two years in a multispecialty practice and/or hospital medical record/radiology/pathology setting preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, good English grammar skills and excellent keyboarding/editing skills required.
