Medical Scribe (In Office)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The purpose of the Transcriptionist is to transcribe and distribute medical dictation accurately and efficiently in the prescribed format of OrthoArkansas, place this dictation on the chart to maintain historical accuracy of patient care, and to distribute the dictation to the appropriate parties for continuity of patient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
• Transcriptionist may work in conjunction with a transcription service and may edit work once returned from the service as well as distribute this dictation as listed above.
• Keep a list of transcribed dictation and notify the physician of any missed dictations.
• Transcribes dictation in the electronic medical records system in the designated chart for the patient.
• Various other clerical duties as assigned by the physician.
• Transcribes medical correspondence and STAT dictation. Transcribes medical dictation by the doctor in the format prescribed by OrthoArkansas for timely distribution.
