The ideal candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, punctual, and efficient. Strong oral/written skills are a must. The Medical Scribe performs all clerical and information technology functions for a provider, including primary responsibility for the operation of electronic health records.

Schedule is full-time weekdays. Remote / Hybrid work between our San Antonio, Georgetown, and virtual clinics. Candidate must be able to reliably commute between our San Antonio and Georgetown centers (20% travel).

Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with the psychiatry team to ensure all patient documentation is available and organized prior to patient encounter.
  • Manage the tracking and collection of data from multiple sources prior to and during patient encounters.
  • Electronic (AMD/Opus) documentation of patient encounter with provider.

Responsibilities:
  • Review medical records to verify the accuracy of patient’s information.
  • Verify that the information is complete and accurate.
  • Verify that the information is legible and understandable.
  • Prepare the notes for review by the physician or nurse.
  • Review the completed medical record to ensure accuracy.
  • Submit completed medical record for review by the physician.
  • Assist in obtaining laboratory results for patients.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Follow all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure medications are uploaded to EHR in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mental health office or similar setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, charting, and recording procedures and medications preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems (AMD/Opus preferred).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a medical/science-related field (required)
  • Minimum of 6 months medical scribe experience (required)
