Medical Assistant - School Health Clinic-Bay Village

psi is looking for a School Medical Assistant to support a Public School in Bay Village. Currently this position is 37.5 hours a week. Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. This position would be for the 2023/2024 school year with the opportunity to continue into next year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing services to schools that work toward the good health and wellness of students and the improvement of health conditions in general.
• Administer prescribed medications in accordance with school board policy, ORC 3313-713, and psi policy.
• Assist with all screening programs and school health programs
• Warmly interact with these children, always serving them with patience and kindness
• The School Health Assistant may be working independently in their assigned school health clinic performing the below duties.
• This is an entry-level position in a school health clinic.
• Monitor student health needs and provide appropriate health interventions and services to students.
• Provide first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures

Qualifications

• Knowledge of communicable disease prevention and medication protocol
• Diploma from accredited medical assistant program
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience caring for children strongly preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws & ability to appropriately handle confidential information
• Collaborative, constructive team building skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
