FLOAT MA Role - ability to float between 3 different WHA clinic locations is a requirement.

Rooms 20-24 patients a day on average.

Will likely support multiple providers in multiple clinic locations.

Obtains patients’ history and takes vital signs: temperature, pulse, blood pressure and weight/height.

Manual blood pressure.

Updates and maintains clinicians’ daily office schedule.

Answers and responds to patients phone calls and patient follow-ups.

Schedules laboratory tests, x-rays, special tests and procedures as instructed by the clinician.

Correctly label all specimens.

May perform blood draws - phlebotomy.

Enters and updates patient’s medical history into EMR (Epic).

Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team.

Audits coding after patient encounter completed to verify services rendered are documented in EMR correctly.

Maintains a clean working environment.

Assists clinician in completing work release (FMLA) paperwork.

Reviews and maintains various logs and records.

Work in close partnership with clinician(s) as an integral and valued member of the care team.

Tee-up day by entering information from patient-completed forms into electronic medical record (pre-charting/pre-chart).

Preload paper or outside records (pre-charting/pre-chart).

Prepare patient information for clinician review prior to appointment (pre-charting/pre-chart).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of Medical Assisting experience

Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, NCCT, RMA, AMT, etc.) (for float, they HAVE to be certified)

Will also accept an LPN cert in lieu of a MA cert

Graduated from an MA accredited program

CPR certified (or ability to be certified within first 90 days of hire)

Vaccinations up to date

Experience With EMRs/EHRs - Epic Experience Is Preferred

Works well with teams/team player

Strong communication skills both written and orally

Personality & culture fit are going to be BIG - they need MAs who have a willingness/hunger to learn, are easy to communicate with, reliable, excellent patient service/mindset and have the ability to multi-task
