Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Representative to join our team, dedicated to assisting veterans in scheduling their medical appointments. As an Appointment Scheduling Representative, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to veterans, ensuring they have access to timely and appropriate medical care. Your exceptional de-escalation abilities, empathy, patience, and medical background will be instrumental in making a positive impact on the lives of those who have served our country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • De-Escalation Skills: Handle potentially sensitive or emotional conversations with professionalism and confidence. Apply de-escalation techniques to diffuse tense situations and maintain a calm and supportive atmosphere during calls.
  • Empathetic Communication: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the veterans' unique needs and concerns. Display empathy and compassion while effectively addressing their queries and alleviating any worries they may have.
  • Veteran Support: Receive inbound calls from veterans seeking assistance in scheduling medical appointments, addressing their inquiries, and guiding them through the appointment scheduling process.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues veterans may encounter during the scheduling process, including technical challenges or conflicts in appointment availability. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure swift resolutions.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of veteran interactions, appointment details, and any additional notes necessary for future reference.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with fellow Call Center Representatives, medical staff, and administrative personnel to streamline processes, share insights, and ensure a seamless experience for veterans.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely, ensuring veterans fully understand the appointment scheduling process.
  • Empathy and Patience: Display exceptional empathy and patience when interacting with veterans, understanding the challenges they may face and maintaining a supportive demeanor throughout conversations.
  • Medical Background: Possess a background in healthcare, such as a degree in nursing, medical assisting, or a related field. This knowledge will aid in understanding veterans' medical needs and prioritizing appointments.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing processes, procedures, and technologies while maintaining a commitment to providing top-notch veteran support.
  • De-Escalation Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage difficult situations with tact and diplomacy, utilizing effective de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive call environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Effective time management and organizational skills to manage high call volumes, appointment scheduling, and documentation.
  • Customer Service Experience: Prior experience in customer service, particularly in a call center environment, is advantageous.
  • Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using computer systems, databases, and software applications for call management and data recording purposes.

Details:

  • You will be provided a computer and 2 monitors to use for this project, but will need to provide your own keyboard/mouse/headset and ethernet cable long enough to reach your desk.
  • This is a fully remote position and will not require any in person work or travel.
  • This position has a pay rate of $20 per hour and includes benefits after 60 days of employment.
  • Internet Speed Requirements: Minimum of 20mbps download and 10mbps upload.
