Mechanical Technician Full-Time Jobs

Summary of the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician II who can efficiently repair and maintain plant machinery and mechanical equipment including power and hand tools, fixtures, and other equipment. The successful candidate should be able to diagnose system malfunctions and assist with machine installation.
Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels.
• Ensure the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components is done correctly.
• Calculate, lay-out/draw, balance and align equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of machinery/mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
• Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety.
• Follow all accompanying rules and established processes to support safety and quality programs.
• Install, test, assemble, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, machinery, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using precision measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning components, apparatus, and systems, using test equipment and hand tools.
• Perform rigging activities, miscellaneous maintenance functions, and safety-related functions.
• Fabricate or utilize all types of mechanical parts (e.g., valves, fitting, etc.) from stainless steel, cold rolled steel, steel plate, structural steel members, and other metals.
• Be a self-starter but also capable of taking orders as directed.
• Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels.
• Plan and complete Preventative Maintenance with appropriate documentation.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

• Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power) and forklifts/high lifts.
• Competent in the use of oxyacetylene torch work and welding.
• Knowledge of laser alignment and vibration monitoring.
• Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Ability to test programs and run existing programs on laser, plasma, and drilling machines.
• Competent with programming Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Physically capable of performing work from ladders, roofs, and scaffolds to maintain, install, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• At least four (4) years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming as it relates to both Windows and FANUC operating systems.
• Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
• Functional knowledge of the maintenance and parameter functions of FANUC, CNC, and TwinCAT control systems.
• Experience with or ability to learn AutoCAD, MasterCAM computer software, and Asset Essentials software.
• Basic knowledge of trouble shooting to assist with diagnostics and repairs of advanced processing equipment, material handling system, press brakes, lifting devices, Computer Numerical Controls (CNC), and sawing equipment.
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and comprehending conversational English.
