Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the inbound and outbound movement of materials, goods and supplies based on customer needs, inventory targets, and production schedules

• Collaborate with functional area leaders to achieve plant goals and objectives, such as effective and efficient production schedules, customer fill-rates, and inventory accuracy goals

• Develop and execute the purchasing strategy to meet the company's business growth and materials requirements

• Improve supplier quality and delivery through partnerships with supply commodity managers

• Optimize MRP and ERP systems to improve workflow, cost, schedule, and inventory performance

• Lead and develop a team of direct and indirect reports

• Enhance material-delivery routings and communicate materials metrics and standards of performance

• Implement processes and controls to achieve inventory accuracy

• Resolve labour and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions

• Supervise the annual physical inventory and prepare the department budget

• Participate in cross-functional operational decisions affecting P/L, Cost, Operations, Safety, Quality, Delivery, S&OP, and Cash objectives

• Adhere to established company policies, procedures, and legal matters affecting purchasing policies



Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business

• Minimum of 5 years' experience at the Manager level in Materials Management

• 10+ years' experience in Materials Management

• APICS Certification preferred

• Strong understanding of MRP systems and JIT environment

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, SQL and data-warehouse experience preferred

• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team

• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Functions and Fabrication operations preferred
