We are pleased to offer the current job opportunity for an Equipment Operator II position within the Division of Transportation.
This position is included in the Bargaining Unit of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150.
This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing requirements of the United States Department of Transportation - Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991.
Responsibilities Include:
- Operates equipment for snow removal on roads
- Cleans roads of debris
- Fills in cracks and potholes to avoid safety hazards on roadways
- Performs basic maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
- Operates a variety of motor vehicles and heavy equipment (e.g. paver, loader, skid steer loader, vactor, snow plow, wing plow, semi-tractor/trailer, tractor, sweeper, and backhoe) for performing maintenance and construction of roads and sewer lines
- Repairs shoulders and right-of-ways
- Acts as a lead worker and assists co-workers with their work assignments
- A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brakes endorsement
- Three(3) years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma equivalent
