Job Description
Summary


  • Assist the construction crew and management with moving material to and from the jobsite. Performs all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.
  • Unload truck as needed at job or storage locations.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Load truck accurately and safely for deliveries.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Keep materials organized and know location of materials on jobsite and at storage locations.
  • Drive company vehicle to pick-up and move material, obeying all traffic laws and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate licensing credentials and acceptable driving record.


Primary Purpose


Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment using plumber's hand -tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.


Typical Duties And Requirements


  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  • Join piping by means of threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Inspect work sites to determine presence of obstructions.
  • Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
  • Perform work overhead, beneath structure, and from various other positions as required by working conditions.
  • Rate information using standards which can be measured or checked.
  • State Plumbing license preferred.
  • Test plumbing system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
  • Cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
  • Assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipe and pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material and piping required and dimensions of plumbing system to be installed.
  • Bend pipe by hand or with pipe-bending machine.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
  • Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
  • Secure pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand tools.
  • Thread pipe using threading machine.
  • Select type and size of pie and related materials according to job plans and specifications.
  • Perform work from scaffolding, ladders, or other structures.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Fit and install prefabricated sinks, faucets, showers, etc.
  • Follow directions, plans, and blueprints.
