GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY/SUPPORT:
  • To become fully trained in all areas of the work that is performed in the Clean Environment Manufacturing (CEMA).
  • Follow all rules and regulations for the CEMA including proper gowning and de-gowning.
  • To serve as a member of the ITW Medical assembly team in assembling and packaging class II medical devices for distribution to our customers worldwide.
  • Perform end of the day clean up duties as required, and any other required housekeeping
  • To practice and encourage courtesy and helpfulness among all team members.
  • To ensure every device assembled and packaged is completed according to all Manufacturing Instructions and Operating Procedures.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage the assembly team’s hour by hour performance.
  • Builder
  • Wrap finished goods.
  • Prepared components for the following process.
  • Plunger/Jacket assembler
  • Monitor labor usage and know the proper number of employees are being used during each production run.
  • Assemble components using medical heat, form, coil equipment.
  • Case Packer
  • Inspect products to ensure high quality.
  • Operate equipment to apply silicone.
  • Inside Materials Handler
  • Follow work instructions and complete documentation.
  • Inspecting packages and shipping containers.
  • Component Stager/ Material Handler
  • Keeping records of packages including delivery notes, invoices, etc.
  • Pack-out
  • Siliconizer
  • Package finished products in boxes.
  • Assembly – Absentee
  • HFC Assembler Lead
  • Assist in assembly, troubleshooting, or management of assembly team in absence of Team Leaders.
  • Preform all duties and responsibilities of Assembler I.
  • Assembly Outside Material Handler
  • To learn the Support Positions in the CEMA.
  • To demonstrate proficiency in specific duties of each position required as an Assembler I:
  • To learn the specific duties of each position required as an Assembler II:
  • Syringe assembler
  • Barrel Blower and assembler
  • Get crates ready with correct boxes and inserts.
  • Inventory Movement - ensure products are moved and documented properly.
  • Inspect each box and label.
  • Tray Packer/Sealer
  • Maintain and organize pallet area, shipments, and load trucks.
  • Labeling packages appropriately.
  • In-line Inspector
To learn and support positions in Molding
  • Perform any secondary operations on parts.
  • Keep the screen green.
  • Degating
  • Complete all production related paperwork neat and accurately.
  • Enter scrap data into Mattec.
  • Perform quality checks on parts being produced.
  • Production sheet
  • Every two hour sample record sheet
  • Utility Knife
  • Pack product in the correct containers.
  • End of shift reports
  • Air Clippers, etc.
  • Housekeeping
  • Flammer
  • Contact supervisor and technician if parts or machine is out of specification.
  • Pull every two hour samples for inspection.
  • Flaming, etc.
  • Operate secondary equipment and other tools
  • Operate industrial molding machines after completing part training with a designated trainer.
  • Ensure products meet the component specification.
Make boxes if required.
  • Place appropriate labels on packaging.
  • Maintain a clean work area throughout the shift.
Prior to leaving at the end of the shift ensure work station is neat and orderly.
  • Be on time everyday; arrive at your work station 5 minutes prior to the start of the shift.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Attend all scheduled shift meetings.
  • No call outs, late arrivals, etc.
  • Responsible along with team for keeping the molding room neat and orderly.
  • Perform all activities in a safe manner.
  • Returning from all breaks and lunches on time.
  • Attend all scheduled training.
Qualifications/Skills
Educational Level
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Comprehension/Reasoning Skills
  • This position requires the ability read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications for the work being done in the CEMA.
Math Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute ratios and percentages.
Other Skills And Abilities
  • This position requires corrected eyesight of 20/20 and the ability to perform close hand-eye coordinated assembly work.

  • Individual must be able to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate components for assembly.
  • Must be able to lift components weighting between to 10-60 lbs. frequently.
  • This position requires some physical movement around the assembly room. The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time between breaks during the workday.
  • Specific vision abilities are required such as close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
The work conditions are in a climate controlled medical device assembly room. Team members wear clean room uniforms provided by the company.
