Position Overview:

The Senior Source’s Content Manager is responsible for creating content and helping manage internal and external communications efforts that inform, educate, entertain, and support our clients, volunteers, donors, and the broader community. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to serving the needs of seniors.

Primary Responsibilities

Content Management:

·Create and gather engaging and useful content for agency resource library.

·Provide recommendations and oversee how best to leverage content distribution across all channels and social media platforms.

·Collaborate with marketing team to develop a social media content strategy.

·Manage the agency’s website chatbot “Phoebe”.

·Assist with speechwriting for leadership team.

·Liaise with agency staff to ensure brand voice consistency for their events.

·Collaborate with external partners and Director of Marketing to ensure SEO optimization on a regular basis.

Communications:

·Lead email marketing campaigns for agency-wide communications and advocacy efforts using Capital Canary and Mailchimp as well as proof monthly programmatic emails from the Marketing Coordinator

·Produce copy for multiple formats including video, social media, podcasts, op-eds and speeches.

·Provide support for media appearances for staff on TV, radio, print.

·Draft public relations pitches and press releases

·Assist the Development team with communications for fundraising events.

·Gather, organize, and distribute client / volunteer testimonials.


Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree is required. Ideally 2-4 years of progressive content creation roles involving internal and external organizational communications and online and offline copywriting.


Preferred Knowledge/Skills

·Ability to create clear, compelling, and on-brand content for websites, social media, email, marketing collateral, brochures and flyers, event programs, press releases and more.

·Strong grammar, punctuation, and copyediting skills.

·Familiarity with AP Style.

·Experience in writing for SEO for website content.

·Experience in writing, storytelling and editing skills and ability to adapt writing style based on the message and intended audience.

·Ability to acquire and process information on new topics with speed while producing content regardless of the subject matter.

·Understanding of the needs and issues relating to today’s seniors as well as the nonprofit environment.

·Ability to make links between issues, trends, and messages.

·Ability to create fresh, news-related content quickly in response to trends and breaking news stories.

·History of successfully managing relationships with clients, managers, donors, board members and the media.
