About the National Sports Forum:
The National Sports Forum is a firm based in San Diego, California. We plan and execute annual conferences, meet-ups, and virtual events throughout the year, culminating in the major National Sports Forum conference every February with over 1,000 attendees annually. Heading into its twenty-eighth year, the National Sports Forum (www.sports-forum.com) is one of the largest multi-sport, inter-league gatherings of sports team marketing, sales, sponsorship, business development, DEI, and fan experience executives in North America. The conference and trade show features presentations, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities for top executives from all major sports teams, leagues, and organizations, including MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, NWLS, Racing, Minor League, and collegiate athletics.
This role is on-site at our offices in San Diego and will require relocation if needed.
Job Responsibilities:
•All Advance Conference Marketing – The Coordinator will be responsible for planning ALL of NSF’s marketing. This will
necessitate both a Marketing Plan, the creation of a Marketing Calendar, and the establishment of a Marketing Budget.
•Web Site – They will have complete responsibility for the NSF website – nothing goes on that site that doesn’t get run by the Coordinator. To this, he/she will have the “point person” responsibility of working with the program WordPress on the design and implementation of the NSF website.
•Digital Advertising – The Coordinator will help plan, oversee, and execute all digital advertising put out by NSF. We do a whole host of e-blasts, e-mail marketing, Newsletters, and social media marketing and it will be your responsibility to coordinate and put out our message and track results.
•Print Message – The Coordinator will be responsible for the production of the National Sports Forum’s written message. From newsletters to social media, and everything in between. The Coordinator will work closely with the Marketing & Communications Managers to produce all collateral for the National Sports Forum.
•On-Site AV - Come to the actual NSF itself, The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be in charge of the show’s Audio-Visual – from set-up to coordination, to breakdown when the conference wraps up. This will include working closely with the AV team on-site to ensure a successful Audio-Visual show.
•Other Programs – Assist with the coordination, promotion, and execution of award competitions – ADchievement Award, SAMMY Award, Challenge Cup Competition, Case Cup Competition, and Project Possible Award. As well as assist with tasks that need to be completed for the Business of Diversity in Sports and Entertainment (BDSE) program.
•Collaboration in the Office – The coordinator will be working closely with the Sales department, as well as the Marketing & Communications Manager, to share ideas and collaborate on best practices to achieve the overall goal of driving attendees to the National Sports Forum.
Education:
•Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Media, or a Related Field
•1 – 2 years of Post-Graduate Experience Preferred
•Please bring a portfolio of design work to the interview.
Skills & Requirements:
•Web design/management experience required. Experience working with the software WordPress is preferred, but not required.
•Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Proficiency in Adobe Products and Canva required
•Extensive knowledge of marketing theories and applications
•Outstanding written and verbal communication
•Excellent public relations and project management skills
•Extraordinary attitude, and enjoys working in a team atmosphere as a team-player
•Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with little supervision and a self-started
•Works well under pressure
•Maturity and good judgment
•Passion for the sports industry
This position is currently open. The starting salary for the Marketing & Communications Coordinator position is $35,000 plus a bonus along with Health Insurance and Paid Time Off.
