Pacific Summit Energy, focusing mainly on short and long-term natural gas trading, business development, and origination within North America and global markets. This person will primarily support the various Gas Trade Desks, Business Development and Marketing Group, and will be expected to provide tradeable analyses of natural gas markets in the short, medium, and long term.

This position will appeal to individuals who are comfortable working in a fast‐paced environment, able to produce detailed analytical work, have strong quantitative and modeling skills, have market intuition, and are interested in contributing to the bottom line in a rapidly changing and challenging area of the energy business.

Responsibilities

·Develop, maintain, and support tools (Mathematical and Qualitative) used for analyzing energy markets.

·Provide reliable and timely analyses on daily, weekly, balance of month, and term market fundamentals.

·Analyzing and creating reports on local, regional, and international oil, natural gas, and LNG supply and demand.

·Maintain knowledge of key market issues including market rules, regulatory changes, strategies and incentives of various market players, supply, demand, and other market drivers.

·Gather necessary data and do the analysis to answer questions on very short notice and provide advice on a variety of

market topics.

·Effectively communicate market knowledge to help formulate strategies for proprietary trading.

·Develop and document methodologies and best practices for performing analysis.

Qualifications

·A four‐year degree education from an accredited college or university degree in Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or related field preferred. Advanced Degree (Masters/PhD) and/or previous experience with energy commodity trading is a big plus.

·Experience in an energy trading environment with exposure to natural gas, power, and other commodities and/or experience in supporting decision making in a commodity trading environment.

·Excellent fundamentals modeling skills, in particular analysis of power and natural gas markets.

·Programming: Python (other programming languages a plus, such as Excel/VBA, C++ and statistical packages)

·Experience with visualization tools a plus (for example, PowerBi and Plotly Dash)

·Must understand quantitative methods, principles of economics and finance.

·Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

·Bi‐lingual or multi‐lingual is highly desirable.

·Able to work independently on a variety of simultaneous projects.

·A team player willing to learn new skills as well as sharing his/her knowledge.

·Must be currently authorized to work in the United States to be considered for the position.
