Gas Plant Operator Jobs

Primary Purpose
Responsible for operating the gas plant to ensure its integrity, optimization, and reliability to meet customer demands and interconnect pipeline requirements at a high deliverability compressor facility. This position requires the incumbent to work independently with minimal supervision, work 12-hour shift rotation, and work other than normal work hours.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete required reporting and other documentation.
• Monitor system integrity. Initiate emergency operating procedures including notifications to supervision, emergency response personnel, and regulatory agencies. Monitor facility security.
• Coordinate activity with company and interconnecting pipeline gas control departments.
• Operate the gas plant safely, reliably and consistent with company standards and requirements to serve its customers. Start, stop, and change the sequence of operation of equipment, as required by system load conditions, to optimize energy efficiency and reliable operating configuration. Operate and maintain engines and pneumatic and electrical controls.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Perform minor maintenance and inspections.

Qualifications
Education

• N/A
• 2 to 5 years Related experience Required
• Capable of recognizing and analyzing equipment and system problems and taking appropriate corrective action. Intermediate
• Ability to read technical manuals, one-line diagrams, piping alignment sheets, etc. Intermediate
• Ability to work alone (day or night). Advanced
• Ability to maintain detailed records to ensure compliance with all Company policies as well as all local, state, and federal regulations. Intermediate
• H.S. Diploma/GED Required
• Previous experience with work management scheduling databases PreferredSkills and Abilities
• Possess intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel/Word/Outlook/Access) specifically for the purposes of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and information retrieval. Intermediate
• Understanding of basic gas flows and piping configurations Advanced
• Possess strong verbal and written English communication skill Intermediate Licenses and Certifications
• Technical/Vocational Process Technology Degree Preferred Experience
