We are seeking a full time Manufacturing Test Technician - Optical Fiber for our AFL Specialty Optical Fibers division (formerly Verrillon) in North Grafton, MA. This is a night shift position (12 hours per day for 4 days or 48 hours per week), Monday to Thursday with days starting at 6 PM and ending at 6 AM. The Optical Fiber Test Technician will complete production testing in support of customer delivery schedules.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with the technical staff to analyze test data.
  • Accurately document testing results.
  • Testing will be carried out on standard fiber optic industry equipment and well as internally developed test stands.
  • Optical and mechanical testing of standard and development fibers, documentation of test results, work procedures, and operation of ancillary testing equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Positive attitude, team oriented work ethic, ability to work independently with little supervision, and attention to detail.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Flexibility to work extended working hours if needed.
  • 1-3 years of fiber test experience including documentation of test results and work procedures.
