General Optical Manufacturing Technician I Jobs

Must report to work with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.

Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.

Starting Base Pay: $17.00 per hour with consideration for lab experience

Career pathing, internal internships (i.e. finance, marketing, HR, etc.) and other development opportunities

Shift: Monday - Friday ; 10:00 AM until 6:30 PM

Calibrations and operations of all equipment.

Effectively identify and address work flow and quality issues.

They will also be responsible to perform tech 1 or secondary job functions in their department as needed

Bachelor’s degree in business or logistics management, or equivalent, preferred.

Monitor sales results against budgeted.

1-3 years of fiber test experience including documentation of test results and work procedures.

Testing will be carried out on standard fiber optic industry equipment and well as internally developed test stands.

Work directly with the technical staff to analyze test data.

High School diploma or GED required

Positive attitude, team oriented work ethic, ability to work independently with little supervision, and attention to detail.

Flexibility to work extended working hours if needed.

Plan assigned workload on a daily basis in coordination with management and team members to effectively schedule multiple assignments.

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English required

Basic knowledge of chemical handling and storage required

AAS Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or high school diploma plus 1+ years of comparable laboratory or manufacturing experience

Learn to conduct routine procedures and analyses in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines

Developing, improving, and writing SOPS under supervision

Strong problem-solving skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to assess issues and effectively work towards resolution

Understands there will be other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Experience working in cleanrooms, laminar flow hood and clean manufacturing environments

Excellent trouble-shooting skills utilizing various analytical equipment and measurement technologies, including electronics

Experience using MS Office, Excel and comfort learning new SW programs

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Associate degree or equivalent technical training OR Equivalent Combination of Experience and Education.

Accumulated 5 or more years of manufacturing-related experience preferred, ideally with optics and electro-optics

Experience in a manufacturing environment as an assembler or technician

Experience with power tools and machining equipment

Experience with electronic test equipment

Minimum 3 or more years of manufacturing-related experience as an assembler or technician

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/management

Follow instructions and procedures precisely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement

Math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing)

Experience in optical manufacturing and/or any manufacturing environment; experience in optical coating, metrology, disposition, cleaning, fabrication a plus

Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing detailed instructions, short correspondence (e.g., e-mails, texts, instant messaging)

Skilled in writing simple, informational, and technical correspondence
