Northrop Grumman Marine Systems-Cape Canaveral specializes in providing deployed systems support for launching and handling systems for the US Navy US/UK TRIDENT II SSBN programs and is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 3 for our location on board Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
What You'll Get to Do:
- Keep accurate records documenting completed activities and collected data within processing documentation.
- Read and follow instructions in ordnance documents (ODs), ordnance pamphlets (OPs), alteration documents, test procedures, trouble failure reports, drawings, safety data sheets, etc.
- Acquire and maintain licensing requirements for operation of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes, etc.) as assigned.
- Acquire and maintain working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronics measuring techniques.
- Maintain a general understanding of quality, safety, security, and other similar instructions.
- Acquire and maintain certifications for crimping, soldering and other designated skills to support maintenance/alteration activities.
- Perform disassembly, repair, alteration, assembly, troubleshooting and testing on Launcher Subsystem tactical and support equipment in accordance with approved documentation and under guidance from production support engineering and senior technicians.
- Receive and store materials, parts, consumables, and tools used to repair and maintain launcher components.
- Perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance of support equipment following established procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of additional education and/or related experience in mechanical and electrical repair of parts, subassemblies and assemblies and their maintenance.
- US citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Ability in reading and interpreting mechanical/electrical drawings and technical procedures.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively and cooperate with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Strategic System Program (SSP) operations and the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program.
- Experience in electrical requirements (familiar with code requirements and regulations, fabricate & test wire harnesses, test, and assessments of existing/new systems).
- Experience in operating at a government-owned facility.
