Job Description
Job Title: Manager, Shipping, Outbound Processing
Location: Reno, NV
Reports to: Senior Manager, Shipping
Shift: Primarily Day Shift, but May Be Expected to Work Later Hours into Swing Shift

General Summary
The Manager, Shipping, Outbound Processing is responsible for all activities related to Value Added Services for key Wholesale accounts. You will lead supervisors in two locations on two shifts, and oversee all aspects of planning, packing, applying VAS, and shipping all key accounts orders. Solid coordination with Dealer Service, customers and transportation providers, and the Shipping and Receiving departments is essential to process these time critical orders.
Additionally, the Manager, Shipping, Outbound Processing may be called upon to provide leadership or support in other departments. These include Picking, Packing, Shipping, International, Retail, Line Change, Guarantee Services, Inventory Control, Repairs, Facilities, and others. This position may rotate to areas in different departments where seasonal business demands increase. This position will also bridge communication between day shift and swing shifts teams.

What You’ll Do
Leadership
  • Participate in the recruiting and interviewing process when selecting new talent for the team.
  • Partner with each Department Manager to support the department & company priorities and policies.
  • Practice empathetic, supportive listening, being fully present in one-on-one and/or team meetings.
  • Create an environment where everyone can learn from mistakes, voice their concerns, and ask judgment-free questions.
  • Tailor approaches to meet different communication styles.
  • Partner with HR to craft and deliver performance-based documentation to employees as needed.
  • Deliver timely, specific, and actionable feedback in a motivational and thoughtful way.
  • Value the perspective of team members, even if it is different from your own.
Operations
  • Plan and recommend staffing and workflow processes for peak and low volume periods.
  • Prepare and present evaluations for Supervisors in each department, with guidance from the Department manager.
  • Work with the Shipping and Transportation Managers to oversee carrier performance.
  • Partner with the Swing Shift Operations Manager, Outbound Processing Supervisor, and other leaders based on the department rotation and workflow demands.
  • Maintain safety and security standards, and report shift statistics and data, staff incidents, mechanical issues, and other relevant information to each Manager.
  • Follow-up and report to each manager on work volumes, staff incidents, security issues, system failures, statistical data, and feedback regarding employee performance.
  • Wave Processing and Scheduling – using WM Wave Management, the Assistant Manager will select and schedule orders to be completed, and release tasks to print packing slips, full case labels, and pick labels. The Assistant Manager will coordinate with White Fir leadership in wave scheduling.

Experience You Bring
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center setting.
  • Current supervisor or manager at Patagonia.
  • Experience in supervising several employees at one time, including temporary and seasonal help.
  • PC computer skills. Microsoft Word and Excel experience desirable. D365, and WMS a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. safely.
  • Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment
  • Ability to perform routine tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time.
Schedule
  • Day shift hours are currently Monday – Friday; 6:30am – 3:00pm
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as seasonal volume may affect the number of hours (higher/lower) necessary to complete the workload for the day.
  • Swing shift hours are currently Sunday – Thursday; 3:00pm – 11:30 pm
Manager, Shipping, Compensation Range: $71,424 - $107,136
Target Hiring Range: $80,000 - $92,000
