Purpose:


The Manager, Brand Social & PR will lead in identifying, implementing and creating content for Reebok that inserts the brand into relevant cultural moments and trends. The Manager will be on the pulse of cultural moments, social trends, pop-culture news, and the latest in sports, fitness, pop culture and fashion to bring key insights and recommendations on which and how Reebok can fit into them. The Manager will be expected to create opportunistic social content that supplements the planned product marketing calendar that capitalizes on larger trends and inserts Reebok into the news stream.


The Manager, Brand Social & PR will be a confident self-starter who can create strong, socially driven content (particularly for Reebok brand and exec IG & TikTok channels) as well as supporting press materials that can help gain wider visibility and media coverage for their content. The Manager will work collaboratively with Social & PR team members as well as with colleagues in product marketing, product development & design, ecomm, and legal.


Under the direction of the Sr. Director PR & Social, the Manager, on occasion, will also be expected to support adhoc needs across Social & PR teams inclusive of monitoring & reporting, seeding, social publishing, drafting and pitching press materials, etc..


Job Responsibilities


  • Help the team identify and tap into resources and third parties that provide added credibility and a broader earned footprint.
  • Help identify news and “newsmakers” within the walls of Reebok and its communities to strengthen our storytelling and help us develop deeper relationships with our consumers.
  • Provide adhoc Social & PR support including but not limited to: monitoring & tracking; seeding fulfillment; drafting & pitching press materials, etc.
  • Lead in the development and execution of brand storytelling through mediums of social and PR that capitalize on cultural moments and current events that will inject Reebok into the news stream.
  • Form close-knit working relationships with product marketing and other Reebok teams including our internal creative agency, larger PR & social team, legal, product, design, archive, and more..
  • Stay on the pulse of social trends, cultural moments, and emerging trends in worlds of fashion, fitness, sport and pop-culture while bringing a strong POV on what and how Reebok should play into
  • Build and enhance brand’s relationship with celebrities, athletes, and tastemakers through strategic seeding in conjunction with PR and Marketing
  • Create social content for brand and executive channels that fall outside traditional product marketing calendar.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:


  • Proficient in creating and editing social-media content (particularly for IG & TikTok platforms)
  • Creative thinker; always on the lookout for the next story and/or opportunity
  • Outstanding organizational skills; the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time
  • Strong understanding of how to utilize and leverage Social Media for maximum impact of media stories
  • Works well in a highly collaborative environment
  • Experience working with talent and executives a plus
  • Self-starter; able to take direction, but confident in own decision-making and ability to manage projects autonomously
  • Strong understanding of earned media landscape
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Mastery in social and owned media strategy
  • Strong writing skills with a passion for storytelling


Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of experience minimum in an office environment
  • Batchelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 3 years of social media and content creation experience
  • PR experience preferred, but not required
