Job Description

We are seeking to hire a Manager of Brand Design. This role represents mature creative thinker who is passionate about brand design, storytelling, and helping creatives of varying disciplines do their best work. You will lead a small team of brand designers helping them to understand, conceptualize, execute, and deliver industry-competitive creative that drives us toward our brand and business goals. You will also be a contributor producing your own hands-on work in service of these goals while applying your expertise and strategic lens.

Our ideal candidate will be a proponent of design thinking, strategically oriented, familiar with modern design tools, and a have keen design eye to ensure quality and consistency for our brand. You balance individual contributor and management responsibilities well. You are skilled with presenting to stakeholders and preparing for handoff. You’re passionate about building a creative culture of collaboration and positivity as well as coaching other designers to help them reach new heights.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of our customers, products, design language, and brand voice to ensure consistency, quality, and impact for the best customer experience
  • Design polished web UI, thoughtful interactions, and user flows for marketing-focused digital properties with deep knowledge of responsive handling and clean hand-off
  • Mentor design team members coaching them on executional and soft skills that help them produce high quality work and continually evolve as creatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve creative challenges efficiently while creating team buy-in
  • Provide clear art direction, new concepts, and creative guidance to design team
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity layouts, prototypes, and evolve design language across all outputs
  • Be a steward of our brand and help build/evolve our brand guidelines with the customer experience in mind
  • Working diligently to codify and enforce top of funnel (marketing site) components while collaborating with a number of stakeholders
  • Be a great team player, highly self-motivated. Ability to collaborate closely with copywriters, product designers, and engineers
  • Spearhead strategic initiatives and ways to improve our practices/craft with creative leadership
  • Lead design problem solving with a specialized background in brand design systems, digital web ux, typography, layout, and interaction design preferred
  • Design solutions for digital campaigns, events, emails, marketing sites, print, and product
  • Identify opportunities for improving our design systems
  • Manage a small team of brand designers with helping to guide their priorities, direct their work, facilitate career growth, ensure quality, and drive impactful work

Qualifications

  • Passionate about end-to-end customer experience holistic of brand and product
  • You are resilient, reliable, and optimistic
  • 4-7+ years of professional creative experience with a wealth of creative knowledge and passion for keeping a pulse on design trends and the competitive landscape, at least 2-3+ years of management experience
  • A T-shaped creative with mastery level expertise in at least one creative domain and a highly refined eye for driving cutting edge design execution
  • Ability to inspire others in the creative organization and provide meaningful support, direction, and mentorship to team members
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Experience Design, Advertising or equivalent work experience
  • An excellent ability to tell a story and weave a complex landscape of assets into a beautiful narrative
  • A courageously authentic leader who can present to and manage expectations of stakeholders
  • A compassionate doer who seeks to improve our processes and regularly works to identify areas to maximize team efficiency
