Maintenance Mechanic Jobs

Magnitude 7 Metals has immediate openings for the role of experienced maintenance mechanics and Electricians in Marston, MO. Role of the Mechanics and Electricians is to fabricate, install, inspect, test, repair, operate, maintain and lubricate all types of machines, equipment, structures, and facilities and to perform work of journeyman's skill level requiring a high degree of accuracy for tasks such as aligning items and fitting tolerances in accordance with prescribed procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use burning, cutting, welding, soldering, and brazing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, inspect, overhaul and rebuild plant equipment including all types of pneumatics and hydraulics etc., utilizing required tools, parts and equipment necessary.
• Repair, maintain and install refractories in furnaces, crucibles, ladles, etc.
• Diagnose trouble, dismantle, checks, repair, and reassemble motor control systems and equipment and report defects.
• Operate cranes, manlifts, mobile equipment and erects and disassemble scaffolding
• Properly lockout/tagout equipment for service work
• Fabricate, install, trouble-shoot, dismantle, repair, assemble, inspect and test, maintain, lubricate, and operate all types of mechanical and heavy equipment
• Read and work from blueprints, sketches, charts, manuals, wiring and schematic diagrams, ladder logic printouts and diagrams and other information and instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk up and down stairs or cat walks with tools.
• Ability to lift items such as motors, weighing up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist level.
• Ability to work flexible hours, rotating schedules that could include weekends and holidays
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing on ladders and equipment, kneeling and crawling under equipment
• Standing and walking for long periods of time
• Ability to use vibratory tools of various sizes for extended periods such as power tools and air wrenches.
• Ability to work in environment with exposure to extreme heat or cold conditions

Skills / Experience:

• Requires broad and detailed knowledge of the millwright trade. Requires use of formulae, handbooks and prints to solve mechanical problems.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
