Job Description
Provides supervision of Allegro’s plant maintenance and facilities teams. Responsible for maintenance of manufacturing and distribution equipment, including preventive and daily emergent maintenance to meet production demands and customer needs. Oversees facilities functions including day to day management of the Facilities team, supports and implements facilities initiatives to ensure the building and services meet the needs of the teams who work there. Works to improve general facility maintenance, cleanliness, and safety at multiple Allegro locations. Responsible for ensuring that all quality, cost, safety, training, and operational standards are achieved in support of overall company goals. Guides and informs the development of all production areas from continuous improvement projects to Cap Ex projects. Develops and performs technical training programs for technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that standard operating procedures (SOPs) and any other required documentations are written, validated, followed, and maintained (includes team member utilization of tools such as e-Maintenance and Redzone).
    • Oversees the day-to-day tasks of the maintenance and facilities teams across all shifts. Manages maintenance requests, coordinating with Plant Operations Leadership to determine priorities, and assigns jobs to technicians.
    • Responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment in all plants. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves maintenance-related problems. Oversees equipment inspections and maintains required documentation. May perform general labor duties as needed.
    • Responsible for all aspects of ACC, AWF, and ACC Park buildings, utility and production systems/equipment including but not limited to defining maintenance/calibration requirements and vendor support contracts, equipment spare part identification and needed stocking levels, task labor requirements and communication.
    • Acts as a resource to the Maintenance and Facilities Teams for daily reactive maintenance.
    • Provides on-the-floor maintenance help as needed, particularly with larger projects (i.e., catastrophic equipment failures).
    • Assists with the direct equipment training for new maintenance mechanics.
    • Manages, leads, coaches, develops, and evaluates Maintenance and Facilities Team Members.
    • Maintains open, cooperative, and participatory communication throughout the entire organization including outside vendors and contractors.
    • Commits to training and sustaining a high level of awareness around safety.
    • Develops key performance indicators and SOPs. Measures and tracks against benchmarks and developmental plans.
    • Drives the implementation and setup of the new CMMs system (work order tracking, PM program, parts inventory)
    • Develops facility projects. Participates in the selection and management of contractors and equipment.
    • Plans, organizes, motivates, and controls projects (installations, equipment layout, capital planning to address capacity/efficiency needs, Lean Manufacturing improvements) with guidance from Plant Operations Leadership to appropriately allocate resources, time, money, and scope.
    • Assists in the development of Capital Expense maintenance plans which would include planning for infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications to ensure Production’s capabilities are maintained.
    • Directly develops a preventative/predictive maintenance program to ensure the reliability and sustainability of equipment to reduce and eliminate unplanned stops/breakdowns while lengthening asset life.

    • Provides audit support.
    • Responsible for sanitation in ACC, AWF, and ACC Park including the selection and management of third-party service providers.
    • Represents the Maintenance Team at new equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure that the equipment meets the quality, safety, and efficiency needs of Plant Operations. Time at FAT’s should also be used to establish PM schedules and SOPs for operation.
    • Liaison with landlords for ACC, AWF, and ACC Park.
    • Liaison with WFM lease administration and legal teams.
    • Performs other duties as required.
    • For SQF purposes, this position being part of Management & Operations is considered a High level of Responsibility with the backup position of Senior Team Leader of Operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in production maintenance, food production industry desirable.
  • Must have previous experience in goal setting and budget developing
  • Flexible schedule required as projects and needs may require after hours/ weekends / holiday work to meet timelines.
  • Must have well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Individual must be able to meet physical requirements of the job and possess a strong commitment to continuous improvement utilizing an appropriate hands-on, cooperative approach to teamwork.
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics, blueprints, maintenance/operator manuals. Must be able to interpret and revise loop sheets, electrical schematics, PID's, I/O wiring and panel drawings.
  • Client service-oriented attitude.
  • Individual will have previous supervisory experience as well as demonstrated mechanical ability with advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and advanced skills in the use of power and hand tools in the maintenance trades such as mechanical instrumentation, plumbing, and electrical.

The wage range for this position is $62,920.00 - $114,318.90 Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits".
