Job Description
Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.

  • This position is located at the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon, GA. Responsibilities Serves as Mail and File Assistant, is the organization point of contact regarding the mail distribution, and is the Brigade representative at all mail distribution points. Provides management of day-to-day mail operations, ensuring proper disposition of official mail and distribution items, mail and information services such as proper size and weight of packages that may be mailed. Records and controls incoming and outgoing registered, insured, and certified mail, completes associated forms for return to post office. Answers all inquiries for Security Management Office personnel on mail (incoming, outgoing, registered, certified, bulk mail) with full knowledge of applicable regulations. Conducts technical inspections of unit mailrooms, in-briefing Unit Postal Officers prior to inspecting and out-briefing Battalion Commanders, Adjutants, and Postal Officers. Performs duties as activity Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO), driving a gasoline powered sedan, panel, or pick-up truck up to and including one-ton capacity with or without front axle. Drives on a daily basis to pick up and deliver mail, (including classified, up to Secret) to the United States (US) Post Office and throughout the post, on public roads, for long and short hauls. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by thorough knowledge of the brigade organizational structure and functions of the brigade headquarters office which would allow for sufficient routing of materials based on subject matter content.
