Job Description
Essential Job Functions
  • Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
  • Will maintain appropriate levels of coating solution in machine.
  • Must follow the lean philosophy and practice the 5 S’s on a daily basis.
  • Will load/unload aluminum coils on to/off of machine via forklift.
  • Will assist in the Warehouse doing “pull stocks” and other related duties when not operating the machine.
  • Will interface with Maintenance regarding the upkeep of the machine.
  • Will perform daily housekeeping of machine and surrounding area.
  • Will maintain daily log files of coated material.
  • Must be able to get along well with others.
  • Will operate the Betz-Met coating machine to wash, rinse and coat rolls of aluminum.
  • Will return coated material to warehouse and will use a computer terminal to enter it into stock.
  • Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.
Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills And Education
  • Have neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, inventory logs, etc.
  • High school diploma or GED; prefer one year experience as a machine operator.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
  • Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
  • Have good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Correctable vision and hearing.
  • Manual dexterity to operate Betz-Met machine, operate forklift, load/unload rolls of aluminum, maintain coating solution, complete logs, etc.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull and reach and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs., etc.
  • Must be able to maneuver successfully through a 33,000 square foot, ground level, single-story manufacturing facility.
