Job Description

Low Voltage Electrical Design Engineer

Fulltime positions

Summary

  • Position of Electrical Design Engineer will support the evolution and optimization of Equipment offers by facilitating our digitization journey and enabling us to profitably grow our market share for US Power Systems. This role will be part of a new Middle Office Offer Optimization high-performance team that will be responsible for the automation and quality of product configuration output to drive end to end ETO efficiency. The position of Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and automating electrical solutions and applications to support the specific needs for quotes and orders for the Low Voltage Product lines.

● Design and automate pre-engineered, electrical systems to meet functional requirements for customer orders.

● Ensure execution alignment with the overall CTO and Wiring Simplification ambitions enabling reduced lead times by driving order engineering and shop floor labor productivity.

● Engage Offer Management and Plants to support Offer Development projects to ensure electrical functional requirements and execution alignment with CTO strategy.

● Leverage ETO technical product knowledge and overall ETO process knowledge to work successfully on a cross-functional team composed of Order Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Selector Teams, and other Middle Office teams like Technology, Automation, and Data Analytics team

● Test, certify, and recertify configurator outputs for all Offer Development projects.

● Research drawing automation outputs from configurator for various product applications and Order Engineering "fixes" that can be applied to product configurator generated output.

Skills and Qualifications

● Extensive Electrical design engineering knowledge (Required)

● Ability to create/edit an electrical schematic for a sales order aligning to electrical functionality required for the order

  • Ability to align electrical functions with product selector questions and answers to drive configurator logic allocating sub-circuits.
  • Electrical design skills with understanding of how to break down a set of completed electrical schematics into sub-circuits aligning with electrical functions (i.e. disassemble a “worst case” electrical schematic).

● Project management skills to develop and manage tasks to support multiple projects at once.

● Bachelors degree required (preferred in an Electrical, Mechanical, or Technical field) plus 5-10yrs experience.

● Accountable, self-motivated and proactive

● Solid and pragmatic problem-solving skills

● Strong written and oral communication skills to work collaboratively with remote teams and management.

● Ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace with people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and beliefs.

● Understanding of the ETO business processes and applications (Desired)

● Experience using ACE configurator content development and testing tools. (Desired.)

● Knowledge of Schneider Electric / Square D Low Voltage electrical distribution products. (Desired)

● Knowledge of statistics, statistical methods, and software (Desired)
