Pay Grade/Pay Range: Based on Qualifications
Department/Organization: 508111 - Capstone Village Assisted Living
Normal Work Schedule: 7:00am to 3:00pm, 3:00pm to11:00pm, 11:00pm to 7:00am; hours and shift may vary
Job Summary: High School diploma or the equivalent. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers. Must be licensed as a LPN in the State of Alabama in good standing.
Additional Department Summary: The LPN provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by resident assistants. Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, obtains specimens as needed, and completes documentation as required.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or the equivalent. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers. Must be licensed as a LPN in the State of Alabama in good standing.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or the equivalent and two (2) years of experience working as a licensed practical nurse to include some experience with Geriatric Residents. Must be licensed as a LPN in the State of Alabama in good standing.
Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Must successfully complete health screening once post-offer of employment is made.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the Alabama Department of Public Health Rules & Regulations for Assisted Living and Specialty Care Assisted Living. Knowledge of Deta Care and Dementia in the elderly. Knowledge of the Deta Brain Series, The Pharmacological Management of Dementia and the Dementia Assessment Series provided by the Dementia Education and Training Act Program, or an equivalent training approved by the State Health Officer.
